Abstract

While the quantity and quality of professional audio podcasts have noticeably increased in recent years, little research has been conducted on this new type of resource. In order to gather more knowledge about the uses and design preferences of regular users of audio podcasts, a questionnaire survey using the framework developed by Tsagkias, Larson, Weerkamp, & de Rijke (2008) was conducted with professionals of information and communication technologies. The results obtained on a final sample of 53 respondents revealed extensive use of podcasts and have shed light on the design features that are considered of high importance by listeners.
